For many boaters this popular Chaparral Cruiser strikes the right mix of quality, comfort, and performance. She was considered a very stylish boat when new and has aged gracefully. Her generous 9’9″ beam results in a spacious and notably versatile interior.
The layout is a little different from most mid-cabin designs: the V-berth is all the way forward followed by an aft-facing wraparound dinette (that you have to climb over to reach the V-berth) that spans the full width of the interior. A high/low table converts the dinette into a double berth, while the aft cabin is separated from the main salon with a privacy door rather than just a curtain.
The cockpit is arranged in two sections: a three-person bench seat stows away in the transom, and a large U-shaped settee is forward, opposite the helm. As many as six people can be seated comfortably in the cockpit, and visibility from the helm is excellent.
